Results of the 2nd edition of the Animalis Painting Triennial – a nationwide competition for animal-themed painting

“I’m glad he got two independent awards. The artist managed to capture the essence and beauty of the banal scene of the brawl of two black birds. The size of the brush movements and the variation of textures perfectly reflect the dynamics of the scene. Dynamic is the in-picture space – the characters of birds balance between the three-size, which brings them closer to the viewer and the abstraction that makes them aware of their belonging to the plane of the canvas. I associate the painting with the canvases of Krzyżanowski, who with a few brushes was able to condue the mood of a slice of nature.”
