Artist statement

I am a visual artist focusing on figurative painting in the style of expressive realism. My work explores the relationship between emotions and shape.

I am inspired by the body as matter, the erotic body, nature, human folly, and issues related to climate change. Therefore, in my work, environmental activism is intertwined with human truths. My works often feature motifs of radioactive flowers, animals, and tempting, emotional bodies as symbols of a rapidly changing world.

I work primarily in oil on canvas, occasionally combining it with spray paint.

My goal is to invite viewers to reflect on their own behaviour and to sensitize them. Through thickly applied paint and bold brushstrokes, I attempt to access primal truths, hidden emotions that cannot be expressed in words.

For me, the creative process is a form of dialogue with the ongoing changes in the world and a protest against human recklessness.
