Artist bio

Marcin Paprota (born 1979, Wałcz) is a painter and visual artist. He graduated from the Teachers’ College in Wałcz under the patronage of the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan (now the University of Arts). He developed his talent in the painting and
drawing studio of Professor Andrzej Zdanowicz.

The artist primarily works with oils and spray paint on canvas, creating in the style of expressive realism. His brushstrokes are bold, intertwining ecological activism with moving human truths. His art calls for sensitivity to nature amidst human recklessness. He
draws inspiration from literature, personal experience, and observations of society.

His work is distinguished by its large formats and impasto textures. His works balance between realism and abstraction, emphasizing the tension between the everyday and the inner world. They are held in private collections across Europe (12 works in Vienna). The artist currently lives and works in Dungarvan, Ireland.
